Introduction
A white Pinot Grigio from northern Italy.
Italian Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio is said to have been introduced to Piedmont in the early 19th century and today this variety is widely grown in Italy, from the northern region of Alto Adige to a little further south in Emilia-Romagna, but the north-east of Italy is the classic Pinot Grigio region. The typical Italian Pinot Grigio is dry, medium or light bodied, with medium acidity, freshness and crispness, with hints of core fruit, flowers and a touch of spice, and often unoaked.
