Introduction

Take out one of these soft Fuping persimmons and gently tear it open with your hands. The soft, shiny, orange-red flesh flows out from under the white frosting, giving the persimmon a tough texture and the softness of fresh persimmons.

We spend all year waiting for the Fuping hanging persimmons to frost naturally, and when we bite into them, we see the red flesh, soft and sweet, and we feel that we have lived up to the year's wait.

The Persimmon Museum in Japan states that "China is the world's leading producer of persimmons, and the best producing area for them is Fuping." This is an honour and a calling card that has been guarded by Fuping farmers for generations.

With an average annual temperature of 13°C and 2,472 hours of sunshine, the semi-arid warm temperate climate of Fuping, Shaanxi Province, with its abundant sunshine, fertile land and superior natural environment free from industrial pollution, is ideal for the growth of persimmon trees.

In 2001, Fuping was named the "Persimmon Township of China" and in 2008, Fuping persimmon cake was named a "National Geographical Indication Protected Product".
